BKeeney Brief's RBDeveloper Column

Okay, I'll admit it. I like to write. And, not to pat myself on the back too much, I'm pretty good at it.

At REAL World 2007 I had some conversations with Marc Zeedar, the publisher of
RBDeveloper magazine. Marc kept pushing me to do a column, or series of articles, on Visual Basic to REALbasic conversion. I was flattered that he asked, but quite frankly, the topic doesn't interest me enough to write about it on a regular basis so I blew it off.

Fortunately (or not, depending upon your viewpoint) I have a lot of opinions and the writing bug kept biting me. So I wrote some sample columns and submitted them to Marc. He agreed on a regular column and now I'm the proud owner of a new column called BKeeney Brief's. The next edition (Nov/Dec '07) should be the first month for the column.

BKeeney Brief's is about the business of being a developer. Topics will include things like how to get work, how to deal with contracts, selling REALbasic, RB and enterprise and so on. I already have enough topics for about three years worth of publications (RBDeveloper publishes six times per year).

I've started a blog at
www.bkeeneybriefs.com that will supplement the column and allow comments from readers. So when you have a chance, please feel free to visit and add your own RB related comments.

I also haven't decided if I'll move the REALbasic example projects over to the BKeeney Briefs domain yet or not. We'll see how it goes.

Cheers,
Bob Keeney
