Task Timer 3.0 Released
10/28/2006
Lenexa, Kansas, USA (October 30, 2006)
-- BKeeney Software releases an update to the simple and
easy-to-use time tracking tool: BK Task Timer.
BK Task Timer is the easiest solution for companies that require their employees to track their time on multiple projects and tasks. Never under-bill your clients again.
BK Task Timer version 3 has arrived, and with it comes dozens of improvements. This upgrade allows users to have up to five timers running concurrently (with a preference setting to allow only a single timer running at a time).
In addition to MySQL, BK Task Timer version 3 allows other data sources to be used for workgroup solutions. PostgreSQL, REAL SQL Server and most ODBC databases are supported. Workgroup users may disconnect from their home database server and continue using Task Timer without time consuming double entry or losing data. A synchronization process ensures data integrity.
A new billing module allows users to create simple bills for their clients. The speed of the application has improved considerably in many areas. There is built-in future support for the Intel Macintosh platform.
“Our customers have told us how they want to use Task Timer,” said Carol Keeney, President of BKeeney Software, “so we completely re-thought how we save their data. Our users told us they wanted multiple timers and support for more data sources so we gave it to them. This is our most significant upgrade to Task Timer ever.”
BK Task Timer is available for Macintosh OS X and Windows users. Macintosh for Intel is currently supported via Rosetta technology. Windows 2000 and XP SP2 are supported.

BK Dock Menu Updated
10/21/2006
BK
Dock Menu plugin for REALbasic is now posted. This version dummy
compiles on every platform supported by the RB 2006 r4 with the
exception of Linux. Obviously it works in Macintosh OS X for PPC
and Intel.
What is BK Dock Menu? It's a plugin for REALbasic that allows a developer to control the dock menu in Mac OS X. Hierarchical menus are supported as well as the ability to display icons. Note that there are two ways to show icons: the first is using standard system icons and the other is using custom icons in the application bundle. More information can be found here.
The demo plugin may be obtained here.

posted Task Timer version 3 FC1 in the downloads page.
Unless something major is discovered, this will be the last beta.
Bug fixes and changes in this version:

• Can now delete a task and project sub task
• Changed to new preferences file for Intel Mac Compatibility
• Now no longer need to click on the timing window to get the focus again
• Cleaned up the Application icon with better mask
• If no current user is selected, upon opening the timing window presents a dialog asking for the user
• Added a Project menu per feedback from users
Based on tests this weekend, the initial release of Task Timer will NOT be Intel Mac native.
As always, if you have any questions or comments about Task Timer, please shoot us an email at tasktimer@bkeeney.com.

BK Dock Menu Plugin 1.2
10/10/2006
We've
updated the BK Dock Menu plugin for REALbasic so that REALbasic
users can create Mac OS X apps for both Intel and PPC Mac's.
About the only other change is that we've removed the Windows and Classic build capabilities. If this causes problems we'll add it back in.
Please email us at uglydockling@bkeeney.com to get a copy of it via email. Once we receive some feedback from users we'll post it.
